Plane Ride

An older couple in our church have a little plane, and yesterday was such a nice day, so they asked us if Stephen and I wanted to go for a ride...how could we turn that down?!? It was so cool to see the area!! It was strange, though, because from the air this area looks so flat...which made since when we thought about it...but it still was cool.

The Alma airport (which is pretty small - probably about the same size or a little smaller than the Marion, IN airport) also had one of these...Stephen is a huge WWII fanatic, so he was pretty excited.

They also had one of these...

Crystal Lake on the left, Duck Lake on the right.

Duck Lake, which as you could see in the picture above, is just down the road from us...

Crystal Lake

More of Crystal Lake

If you click on this picture, you will see our church and our parsonage...well, where are parsonage is supposed to be - you can't really see it because of the trees. You also can't tell how close we are to the lake (that's Mud Lake in the picture, not Crystal Lake)...but the wing of the plane in this picture is directly over it.

Another picture of Crystal Lake...it is pretty big, as you can probably tell. And someone actually has a house on the little island there. They don't stay there year round, but I thought that was pretty cool!

If you click on the picture you will see where our camper is parked (we don't have any room at our house)

One last look at Crystal Lake...

Hopefully next time the kids can come with us...they would love it!! (They have never been on a plane before, but both really like them)

That plane ride looks AWESOME! I always enjoy reading your blog and seeing what you guys are up to.

Thanks for your post on my blog. I will have to check out that book. That is a subject I am particularly interested in right now. I actually posted another installment on holiness. And I will probably right some more, because I still have thoughts flying through my head. You should read it...

What an experience? Were the kids in the plane? What did they think? Had they been in a plane before? We talk about how fun it would be to take a plane ride above where we live because we live about 5 miles from the zoo and it would be cool to see from the air.

Wow, what a fun experience! How many of us have been on big planes, but never on ones where you get that sort of a view or feeling - neat! Pictures turned out great :)
