Part 2 = cooling off!!
Our friends Tara and Jason invited us over to Tara's grandparent's pool...and I normally do NOT like swimming. I get cold, I don't like going under with my contacts, and I just all around have never really enjoyed myself in a pool - and DEFINITELY not in a lake :) I love looking at water and being around water, but not get IN it. Well, Sunday was a BLAST, and I don't think I have ever had as much fun in water as I did that afternoon. It was 83 degrees, and I wouldn't have wanted it any cooler...it was PERFECT. The chlorine wasn't too strong, so I could go under as long as I didn't open my eyes. It was deep enough that you could play a little more and do more things. It was great.
Here are some pictures of our afternoon/evening:
Titus loved spraying water...
And surprisingly he didn't mind getting sprayed back :)
Damaris was sometimes OK with the water, and other times a big chicken.
One of the rare moments she was actually OK with daddy helping her
Titus has really started enjoying the water, which makes me very happy! He was swimming all over.
Here is a video to show how good he was doing! Over the deep end and everything, and swimming on his "own".
We talked each other into doing "scary" stuff. I had never done a flip off the diving board, so I gave it a try. The first two times I landed on my back - OUCH. But after the third time, I finally figured out how to do it and land with my feet hitting the water first instead of my back!
Tara had actually done flips before in a lake, but not off a diving board, so she braved it too! It definitely took us both a LONG time to get enough nerve to do it the very first time!
Stephen is of course terrified of going under...so since us girls did our flips, he went under
Jason did a flip, too...although he kind of got out of doing something "scary" to him...maybe because he isn't intimidated by anything in the pool?? I have no idea...
After that, we watched the fireworks at Fred and Cheryl's house on the lake, so that was fun too!
It made for a long day, with lots of stuff, but we had so much fun!!! It helped that I had Monday off so that we could all sleep in after our exhausting day!

That looks like a lot of fun! I've never flipped off a diving board. I tried to do a backwards dive once and broke all the toes on one of my feet. Since then, I don't do any "tricks". Well, I don't actually swim :)
What a fun time!! I like water as long as it's not cold too! It's been so warm this summer that we have not had that problem!! :)
