So apparently schools nowadays assume since you went to Kindergarten once before in your life, you know how it all works for when your own child starts school. We have found this to be true in several instances.
Well, this isn't the school's fault, but does show our own ignorance in how "school" works.
Titus had school pictures, and we bought a small package to give out to family. Well, a couple weeks later they had picture retakes...and I thought, "Well, that's weird. We haven't even gotten his pictures...I thought retakes were for bad pictures. Apparently this is just for those that missed school on picture day??"
We didn't think anything more about it, other than occasionally wondering where in the world his pictures were. For Christmas, the kids made ornaments for the parents, and Titus's picture was in the ornament! And to top it off, it was a terrible picture because his eyes were half shut (what happened to checking the picture before you take a picture of the next kid???) And I thought, something is definitely NOT right...if the school has access to pictures, we should have gotten his package in the mail by now.
So when Titus went back to school on the 3rd after break, I sent a note to school. Well, the photography group completely missed sending us his pictures...which for most people wouldn't have been a big deal...but Titus's pictures are terrible! So our options were to somehow drive down to Grand Rapids, which really isn't an option for us because we work all day and Titus has school, or try to photo shop his eyes to make them look open.
Well I about DIED when I saw the first attempt (ignore the "out of the camera" raw photo parts)...so I have to show you, because it is just RIDICULOUS.
SERIOUSLY?!? This first of all doesn't even look like Titus, and secondly, the photo shopped job makes his whole face look deformed!
So I sent them a picture of Titus so they knew what he was SUPPOSED to look like, thinking it would help, but I am not sure which is worse...the first picture of this second picture...
Unbelievable...
So I said there was no way we could go with this picture either. They made one final attempt, and even though I still don't like it, it is better than the original picture where his eyes were half shut.
Yikes.
But live and learn, right??? We definitely will have a much better idea of what to expect next year...but in the meantime...his very first school pictures ever are a huge flop...sigh.

Oh my, that 2nd picture was scary!! The last one isn't bad. You are so blessed to have such adorable kids!
love ya, Aunt Bonnie
I'm sorry for these picture, but I can't help not to laugh too. I was at a restaurant eating alone and suddenly burst into laughter after reading this. People must have thought that I am crazy. The second picture is especially ridiculous. They must be joking when they sent you that photo!!
Oh my goodness!! Those photos don't even look like Titus. That is just crazy.
Oh. my. word. I will join everyone else and laugh - so sorry. He looks like a little alien boy. Geesh, you would think that people who do photo shop as their day job would do it right! What were they thinking?! Were they thinking?! What did they think when they finished the job and sent it back to you??? Sorry about that...-Mary Sue
