We had a pretty bad storm hit the Marion area yesterday afternoon. No tornado, but "hurricane-force winds". A few houses down, a whole porch was taken off by a tree that fell on it. There are trees uprooted and on roads and houses everywhere. A couple semis were flipped on the highway. A huge limb came down in our Marion house that we are trying to sell - thankfully it didn't hit our house and only crushed our picnic table. We are thankful for great neighbors who came and helped us clean it up. We are out of power in Jonesboro, probably until late Saturday at the earliest. The power line is actually laying in our yard! We are also thankful for a camper with a refrigerator so that we can save our food, and AWESOME neighbors and kids in Jonesboro who went around from house to house picking up limbs in the community for everyone. It is always great to see people come together with something like this, and fun to visit with people as power outages force people outside :)

In other sad news, the dog Michelle's family had growing up (Trixie for those that knew her) we think is dead. It looked like someone let her off her chain while Michelle's parents were gone. After calling around, the road commission said a dog with that description was hit on the road. Michelle's sister is taking it kind of hard since it was her dog.

Glad to hear that you guys are okay! That is crazy that the weather could get so bad. Sorry to hear about your dog. It's amazing how they can become like a part of your family. :( We hope you sell your home in Marion quickly--we know what it's like to wait and pray that it sells! Take care...
Wow, what a storm! Crazyness, we are glad to know that you all are okay and no major damage was done.
I think just about every friend of mine from marion had some story about the storm. Nuts! Poor doggie... Seriously, lake Michigan drive is just a curse. Not two ways about it!
