Baby Update

Well, I had my first real appointment today with Dr. Swan. It was overall a little strange, but good at the same time...(by the way, for any of you Marion folk out there...they got rid of Dr. Larkins...most patients are probably going to be happy about that, she was not the nicest woman - OK she was flat out mean and rude...)

We got to hear the heartbeat which of course was really cool. He barely had the sensor on my belly and he found a VERY strong heartbeat...even the nurse said "wow" to how fast and how quick it was there. I remember with Titus him having to search a little bit, especially at the beginning. It kind of took me back because I was not ready for it. Lucky shot in the dark, I guess!

What was weird you ask...well, while he was feeling my belly to measure everything, he asks me how sure I am of the date. I am very sure. He also tells me that even though my uterus is measuring at 13-14 weeks, my bladder is really high...so what exactly does THAT mean??? I had just gone to the bathroom a half hour ago...and even though I am pregnant, it can't be full that quick again, can it ?

The other strange thing was that as he was leaving, Stephen said, "so, only one heartbeat, that means we don't have to worry about twins, right?" (it runs in both our families) And Dr. Swan just kind of SMIRKED and said "well, I wouldn't rule that out until the ultra sound"...WHAT?? How could he leave us like THAT, especially after giving us a funny smile?!? Was he withholding information because he didn't know for sure?? We DO NOT think we are having twins (especially since I measured normal - well, other than the bladder thing), but today kind of threw us for a loop...yikes. I guess we wait another month or two to find out for sure :) :)

Twins!!! I know this sounds crazy but I always thought twins would be fun!! Lots of work but fun! It runs on my mom's side..... I am so glad that the heartbeat was easy to find and strong!! I also thought the pictures of our boys was a good one!

Crazy is the right word for it! I was planning on going back to work after #2, but if it does happen to be twins, I am not sure that would be possible...without losing my sanity! :) :)

I thought the pictures were great too...but ironically I really didn't have one of Grace...strange. Next time I guess! :)

That is wonderful about the strong heartbeat! That is always so reassuring to hear! Keep us posted!

Isn't Shawn funny? :) But I guess I'm biased since he's family.
