Titus Goes to the Doctor...

Titus went in today for shots and his normal check-up. He is still small for his age, but growing steady and gaining on the charts a little more every time...his weight and height are now both in the 5-10% and his head circumference is in the 20-25% (even though I really don't think his head looks bigger compaired to the rest of his body, but then, I am the mother :) ). He is 21.5 pounds and 29 inches tall...and yes, he does still wear 12 month clothing at almost 17 months! :) He has never really had a growth spurt, so he has definitely gotten the wear out of all his clothes at each age group! In some ways that is nice, and in other ways I get tired of putting on the same clothes month after month...Oh, and it is aparently normal that Titus refuses to eat vegetables and is very picky at what he eats...that made us feel better too!

Overall, I am very thankful for a happy (now that he is older), VERY active, healthy (he has only been sick once - stomach flu) boy. The first year he was a very hard baby and I wanted to cry (and did sometimes). Not that I didn't enjoy him, but now that he is older it is so much better/easier and we laugh almost every day at what he comes up with!

Quick story...last night in church we were playing Bible Trivia (small group, more informal, first to 10 wins) and Titus saw everyone raise their hands and pretty soon he was raising his hand too...I was crying I was laughing so hard.

(For the record, we made it through church (barely) for the very first time last night (we don't have nursery), which was nice because I could finally listen to the Bible Study (kind of).)

Sounds like he is doing just fine!! Glad to hear such a good report!! Sometimes that first year is very hard and it is definitely okay to enjoy one stage over the other because we know how much you adore your son!! Nothing wrong with enjoying this stage better!! Just wait till he really starts talking and says the funniest things!! (it is a fun stage)
One thing I have noticed is that things go in cycles or stages. Sometimes Grace or Dax will be doing something very annoying(for example Dax screaming loudly or Grace testing us as naptime)and I think to myself, "is this how it is going to be for the rest of their lives?" Then about the time that I think I can't handle it then it goes away...... I really do think kids go through stages and as long as we don't reinforce bad habits it WILL go away!! So my tibit of wisdom is this.....Think of those times when things are bad as short stages and that they will soon be over if I just make it through this hump!! I hope that makes sense!! It helps me!!

He is a very cute dog by the way!!

Glad that Titus is growing! I feel the same way about the head percentages. David's height is at the 98th percentile, but his head is at the 20th, but I don't think he looks different than any other children. I think Titus looks perfect, and I think that as long as he is healthy, that is what matters not all those percentages. And I am sure you having nursed him that long really helped him. I think that babies who are nursed are typically smaller than those who were feed formula. Obviously, I am very pro-nursing :)

That story about raising his hand is SO cute!
