Damaris...aka "Chubs"

OK, so we don't really call her "chubs", but she had her one month appointment today and she is already over 8 pounds!!! That means she has gained almost 2 pounds in 3 weeks! Here is a picture from Friday to prove it...isn't her little double chin cute? :) (interesting bit of information: even though Titus was only an ounce lighter than her at birth, he was 2 months old before he weighed over 8 pounds...of course he was preemie and in the hospital a long time, and she was considered full term.)

She is spitting up more and more, and so if it gets any worse we may have to put her on medicine. I am going to give it a little more time and see what happens. She is still fussy, especially from about 7 PM on, but the doctor thought this colic should go away in the next month or so. It may or may not be related to her spitting up so much. She still is only going about 3 hours at night, but the doctor said that is normal since she is not on formula...we apparently were lucky with Titus :)

I know this sounds really strange, but I think she looks like a Wallinga (my mom's side of the family). I don't know how to explain it. It was funny, though, because Kara came over and said, "Wow, she really looks like Beth." (my cousin)...strange. Both kids at this age look a lot like my 4 week baby pictures...but after that was when Titus really started changing in looks. Her eyes are already turning blue and Titus' changed to brown. We shall see what little miss Damaris decides to do :)

In other news...

Our Sunday School class has started going out to eat once a month...so on Saturday we went to Chili's...it was a lot of fun and good food. There were 18 of us!

Starting in June we are going to be breaking the class into a 20's group and a "young" adult (30-50) group. We are really hoping to get some students from IWU this fall. We are really lacking in the 20's age group, so hopefully this is one step in that direction. We are thinking of having a coffee shop type feel (couches, chairs, coffee pot, etc) and doing activities like bonfires, trips to Indy or the zoo or something, etc. Any other ideas on drawing more people in?

Thursday is Stephen's big final interview with the DBMD for ordination in July...I have to go too, which makes me nervous! Then after that we head north for camping with the Wallingas...
