Of course I couldn't get a smile out of her either ;)She went into the doctor today for her 4 month check-up and shots...I know 4 months is normally when you start babies on cereal, but I just don't think she is ready yet...she still seems satisfied with just milk. The doctor agreed not to push it, and to wait until she starts to seem interested in our food or still acting hungry after I feed her. She is still not rolling over, but the doctor didn't seem to be concerned. She is in the 50th percentile in weight and the 15-20th percentile for height and her head circumference. She weighed in at almost 14 pounds and is 23.5" long. She is in size 3 diapers (her thighs are too big around to fit the size 2 :)) and the 3-6 month clothes are a bit tight on her...time to clean out the drawer and bring in the next size! I don't know if I mentioned it before, but she is sleeping GREAT in her crib in her room. She is still a very happy, content baby that smiles easily and loves to be talked to.
Titus went with us to the doctor so that he could be checked out on how he is doing with his iron levels.
He won't even drink juice now because of the iron drops, and I have only been able to get a half a dose in him a day, and even that is sporadic, but better since I started putting it in apple sauce. I thought for sure the test would still come back poorly, but it actually was high enough that we only have to do one dose, and it is not a big deal if we forget or skip a day or so! Whew...big relief! They will check him again when he is 2 1/2. He continues to make us laugh every day...like today he looks out while we were driving and yelled "Hummer!" I didn't even know he knew what a Hummer was! He loves vehicles though, and can tell the difference between a train, van, truck, car, semi, bus, Jeep, and now apparently a Hummer! :) Even though we still have a battle of the wills at times, he is getting better. The timeout chair seems to be pretty effective right now. I just wish I could be home more to spend more time with him!!!

Gorgeous kids, Michelle! I think the picture of Damaris is precious. There is something so cute about sleepy-faced babies! :)
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one going through the battle of the wills. Emily is gaining strength everyday in the stubborness department. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to handle it. Maybe it's time to try the time out chair too... :)
Even though you said that was a "terrible picture of Damaris", I think she is so beautiful!
We are having issues with David too. Especially since my family is no longer with us to distract him from my constantly tending to the baby. He is having a rough time which comes out in tamper tantrums- all the time! Time outs just don't work for him, so I am struggling to find a way to get through this with him. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the suggestions, Michelle. I've been trying to spend as much time with him as I can, but he SO independent and really prefers to do things on his own. Like right now, he is playing with the dogs. And usually he just wants to run around with them or color with his crayons. The one thing that he will sit down for is the Doodlebops. So I try to watch the video with him at least one time per day. He really isn't into books, but I will try to use your advice about when I am nursing Grace. I think that will help! Thanks!!
Damaris is adorable...and so is Titus! Beautiful family :) Isn't it amazing how fast our babies grow up?!?
Of Course Titus knows what a hummer is, he did spend last weekend with Uncle Chris. :)I think you guys need to get away again soon. I want the kids to come back. I loved having them here. Have a great weekend. Our Anniversary is coming up soon, how would you like three girls?? :)
Love ya
Carlyn
Damaris looks so much like you, Michelle! You can really see it in her eyes! I hope you all are doing well. I will probably see you again at the end of September or at IWU homecoming. I love you all!
