Getting Titus ready for bed...
Saturday Stephen and I had a great time getting away for the afternoon and cashing in a babysitting coupon from our church auction (yes, you may have guessed it, the $10 saga continues!). We are trying to be more intentional about our date nights...especially now that we have two kids. It is just hard to have time together sometimes.
Labor Day wasn't a break from work...we ended up painting ALL DAY at the church. Our 20's classroom was really hideous and very outdated. I could kick myself for not getting a finished picture...but I guess you will just have to wait in suspense until I can :) The kids were great considering there was not much for them to do. We put Titus in the room next door with Veggie Tales and some toys. I still can't believe how good he was!

My cousin Jenn is back at IWU for her senior year and so she came to help too, as well as another guy in our 20's class.

Since Titus was so good even though we had isolated him in a room for 8 hours by himself, we knew we had to spend some time with him doing things he would enjoy. So we took him to the Gas City petting zoo to feed the animals. He was so excited, and it was so cute to hear him call all the animals by name :)
We've had to make a really hard decision...a couple months ago I hesitantly told Stephen that we might consider finding a better home for our dog. She is such a good dog, and very loving, but completely deprived of attention. We try to take her with us when we run or go for a walk, but that is sporadic at best. She is the best dog we have had since Gracie died, and so I really struggled with this decision. But, we have found a great home for her...with one of her sisters actually! Her sister was at the pet store when we got Ebony, and debated between the two of them. Audry is a much bigger dog, but it is amazing how much they still look alike in the face. I am frustrated that we have to get rid of her, but with me going on bedrest less than a week after we got Ebony, and then Damaris coming when we almost had her housebroke, she has been stuck outside and alone all summer, and I know she will be much happier with her new family. I am still sad to see her go.
On a happier note, I got home from work last night and Stephen said that Titus got his hat and put it on all by himself...and had been wearing it for a while! I thought it was too cute :)

Damaris is really close to rolling over...she at least rolls to her side now. Whenever she is on her stomach or back she would rather scoot forward or backward and not side to side. Maybe she will crawl first?!? OK, probably not. She wants so badly to sit up, but of course is nowhere even close to that! She is starting to get more particular and her little personality is coming out, which is fun. She is still a very happy, laid back baby, though...which is nice, and very helpful since she is the second child!
