Back from Florida

If you didn't guess it already from the post below, I decided not to take Damaris with us to Florida. The thing that made up my mind: she still spits up ALL THE TIME. Honestly, if she didn't, I probably would have taken her. It just would have been overwhelming to constantly be changing her clothes, my clothes, and have spit up all over the floor everywhere we went. Overall, not too bad - thanks to a little thing called family restrooms at airports. But I did miss both kids terribly. I think what was harder was going back to work today - because one day back with them was not enough after being gone for five!!

I haven't flown since I was a little girl, so Stephen and my sister were nice enough to give me the window seats all the way down :) Here are some cool pictures I took. The first one is of a plane next to us in the clouds. The next one is arriving in Florida. It was gorgeous!

Here is the resort we got to stay at, which was huge and REALLY nice. I have to admit, I was TERRIBLY disappointed that we got bumped out of our upgraded room - I know, really petty and materialistic, but you have no idea how much I was looking forward to staying in an extra nice room. Don't get me wrong, this place was still amazing, but our room was pretty similar to the place we stayed for our anniversary, so I was looking forwarded to staying somewhere extra special that I hadn't been before. Maybe someday I will know what one of those rooms are like???

Registration was busy and LONG. We started out around 7 AM by getting things from the store for the team to eat and ended close to 12:30 AM by the time we got back to our hotel room. I honestly don't remember the last time I was so exhausted - probably due to traveling the whole day before and then having training shortly after we arrived in Florida that evening. I didn't move until 9 AM, which if you know me is a record. :)
We had a GREAT group on our staff. Even though there were stressful times, we all got along great and had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures:

Jackie and Will...Stephanie and Phil

Sabrina and Ron...(Ron) Dillon and Kara
(I somehow missed Angie...Sorry!!)

Stephen had to work the morning after registration, but I lounged around, sat in the sun, and read a book - much needed after a long day the day before! That afternoon my sister came over and we sat by the pool and played games. We went to the convention center for a little while and then out to eat. After that we went to Downtown Disney and spent over a half hour trying to park, finally decided to just go back to the hotel, and then ran into some security officers that directed us to a different parking location. All said and done it was past 9 PM before we even got out of the car! It was so packed we could hardly even walk, and it was even worse in the stores, which I do not do well with. So, I was a little tense, but we walked through everything outside and, since Stephen had been their twice before, he showed me the highlights, which was a HUGE help. I was glad I went, but I really wish it wasn't so crowded. I couldn't even take pictures!!

The next morning we helped count the offering from the morning service, and it took 10 of us almost 2 hours to sort and count everything, but we ended up with over $16,000!!! After lunch Stephen and I went to our resort that we own part of and checked it out. It was amazing! We could have stayed and enjoyed things there, but we decided to head back and catch a light dinner before going to a movie. We saw the next National Treasure, which was pretty good. Here are some pictures from our day (I know, it is pathetic that I only have two pictures):

Really cool flower outside Bahama Breeze where we ate lunch (Brent, you will have to tell me what type of plant this is!)...This Christmas tree was on the water just outside the theater, and we thought it looked so pretty reflecting on the water.

The next day we slept in a little and then packed up our things and headed to the airport. When we got to Atlanta for our layover, we found out that our plane was delayed, so we got back to Indiana later than expected, but we are here safe and sound :) It was really pretty flying at night, too. Here is one picture I took on our trip home.

Talk about culture shock - mainly in the form of weather!! Two days ago it was in the 80's and this morning my thermometer said 6 degrees!! I would LOVE to live somewhere warmer...I think I was born in the wrong climate. :)

I have to leave you with these funny pictures I took yesterday of Damaris. She has started this funny tongue thing now that she realizes she has one. She sticks is WAY out there. It is too cute!! Maybe she likes feeling her new teeth, too (she now has two by the way, and maybe a third on the top).

On another exciting note, Titus no longer has his pacifier (which he only had when he slept, but WOW was he attached)!! He has gone a week and a half now, and doing pretty good. He did great with bedtime, and he still struggles with nap times, but it is getting better. We took someone's suggestion of cutting the end off. He put it in his mouth, pulled it out and said "broken. Put in trash!" and actually threw it away himself. We had tried to take it away a while ago, but that didn't go over very well. Now that he understands more now, I think he did better this time. Either way it went WAY better than I thought it would!! Next step - potty training - but I know he is not ready for that one yet, and I am definitely not going to push it. Unless something drastic happens, I don't think I am even going to try until he is 3. We will see...
Have a great day!

Glad you enjoyed your time down in Florida!! It sounds like it went super fast! The pictures of Damarius sticking her tongue out are so cute!! I bet she is really starting to show off her personality these days! Also, Good job Titus on losing the pacifier! It was really easy with both of our kids too. I just waited until they would understand too just like Titus! Potty training.... yeah, I don't know when I will start with DAx... he just doesn't seem to show much interest where as Grace was showing some by now!! Who knows? I am pretty laid back with that too! NO need to rush it!
