Busy but Good Weekend

Stephen and I hadn't really had time together for about a week and a half, so we went on a date Friday night - to get paint for the kitchen and to look at carpet and paint options for his office at the church. I know, really exciting. ;) When we got home we randomly decided to stay up late and paint...

BEFORE
(notice the curtain/blinds on the sliding glass door)

DURING
We didn't like the first color we spent time painting all Friday night, so we started over with a new color. Plus we found these curtains on clearance at Wal-Mart and thought they would look better than what was there before.

AFTER
(not sure why in the picture you can see the edging, because it is not like that in person)

Saturday was Drama practice for the skit on Easter, Swimming Lessons, finishing the painting, ironing and hanging the curtains, cleaning and laundry, cutting Stephen's hair, and even a 40 minute nap because we were both so tired from staying up late painting...the day ended a little more fun by meeting up with our friends Josh and Jamie who live in Wisconsin and were down for a conference. We went to Ivenhoe's and then came back to our house and talked. It was so nice catching up with them!

Titus locked in to drawing...Damaris looking cute on Sunday

Sunday Stephen was pretty tired after two late nights, an early morning for church (he gets there around 6 AM), and then having to do Sunday School and service, so he took an hour and a half nap. I would have liked to, but Titus was having a pretty rough day and wouldn't go to sleep for a while...then by the time he fell asleep it wasn't worth it for me to try to sleep anymore :)

Hoping to help cheer up Titus, we went for a walk and then to the park...he had a lot of fun and was surprisingly independent and adventurous...both of which he sometimes struggles with! It was fun!

OK, this really kind of scared me, but he climbed all the way up this huge slide and went down all by himself!!!! I was alone with Damaris and Titus (Stephen went back to the church at 4:30 to have some time before the 6 PM service), so I couldn't help him, and I was surprised that he didn't even ask for help - he can be a pretty big chicken at times ;) He is getting so big!!

Then last night we had friends over after service and stayed up late again playing the Wii and hanging out...it was fun, but both Stephen and I had a REALLY hard time getting up this morning after a sleep-deprived weekend!!

Even though it was busy... sounds like you guys had fun! My sister just played the Wii for the first time and says it was so much fun! Maybe next time we come up that way we can try yours out because we have never played one either!
