Random Phone Call

Have you ever had strange conversations or awkward moments when you wonder if someone is really "for real" (Jenny R, I already know your answer :) )?

I just got off the phone with this lady that talked to me for 40 minutes straight!!! I don’t think I got in more than 5 words other than when she first called and asked what office she had just phoned :) Apparently her daughter is a freshman here at IWU, but she talked to me about EVERYTHING...all the way from her dogs and grandkids to her husband on unemployment and her trying to get hired on at IWU, the school colors, medications she is taking for her blood pressure, and on and on...it was probably the most bizarre phone conversation I have ever had...and I couldn’t even politely excuse myself because she hardly took a breath! Finally I got a phone call so I apologetically interrupted her and explained I had to answer the phone. Whew! I am not sure she is mentally all there, and I don’t even know who she is or what her name is – I seriously think she just found a number at IWU and called it! She didn't have any complaints or problems, she didn't want anything: it truly seemed she just dialed a number at IWU. She seemed like a nice lady, but it was definitely one of the strangest phone calls I have taken since I have worked here.
