Ron & Janelle Koontz

Stephen's cousin, Janelle, got married this past weekend up in Traverse City, Michigan. The church literally sits overlooking the lake. Behind Ron and Janelle in the picture above is the view we had in the reception hall of the church - and it was awesome!

The wedding was beautiful, but we had to leave shortly after the reception got going because we had to drive all the way back to Indiana for church the next day. We got back to our house around midnight, thankfully in one piece (Stephen and I both tend to fall asleep at the wheel at night), but couldn't have done it without Chris, a guy from our church that rode back with us (he is also related to Janelle, but on the Sloan side). We had some great conversations, and that definitely helped!

Janelle's Mom and Caleb (who also goes to our church and is the brother of the guy who rode back with us)

Bible Bearer and Flower Girl
(I had never heard of a Bible-bearer before, but he was super cute and as young as he was, he did amazing!)

Janelle and her dad

Another thing that I had not ever heard of was unity sand...they did this instead of a unity candle. They each had a different color and then poured them together in a larger jar.

This is a video of Melissa and Katie singing a song during the wedding. I didn't quite catch all of what Melissa explained to me later, so I could be wrong here, but someone else wrote the words and Melissa arranged and composed it. Katie sings harmony, but her microphone wasn't turned up enough, so you can't hear her as well. They sounded great together!
(sorry for the shaking...Damaris was on my lap, plus she got very squirmy toward the end :) )

wow, it looks like a beautiful wedding. Wish I could have been there to see the long awaited event.

PS Dennis has the exact same sweater as Titus is wearing in the family pic.

Hey actually Melissa wrote that whole song, music and lyrics. I am so glad you put that on here. We need to get her to record that song! You should put it on youtube! Love ya, Michelle!
