For her birthday we just invited a couple friends over to have cake and ice cream...
Miss Damaris...not so sure about the "other" people in her house :)
Blowing out her candle...
Damaris's friend Grace (1 yr)
Titus with his friends Soren and Pascal
I think Damaris enjoyed her cake and ice cream ;)
Stephen and I like to give one main gift...so this year we wanted to get her a toddler bed...and I would have liked something different than a crib that converts into a toddler bed, but that was all we could find after asking around and still staying in our price range. Yes, it is used...no, I don't care if you think it is tacky to buy her a used gift :)
She loves it, but last night was a little rough because she kept getting out and didn't want to go to bed. We had the same thing with Titus when he switched...she will adjust and be fine soon enough :)
We also got her a cute pair of shoes that were on sale when we were in Myrtle Beach last summer, but we had to guess on the size, and they are too small. :( Apparently her feet grew pretty fast this winter.
Here are some things about Damaris:
If you ask her if she is 2 years old, she adamantly tells you "No!" :)
She just began asking to sleep with her doll or her baby.
She still sleeps with a pacifier...which she calls her "sassy" :)
When she is tired, and every time she is drinking her milk, she is twirling the hair by her ear in her fingers.
She LOVES to be outside and almost every time you take her inside she has a meltdown.
I have to watch her every second if we are around chalk or crayons...I think she could sit and eat them all day...GROSS!!
She is extremely mischievous...and loves to do things just to make Titus mad (what are younger siblings for, right?)
She doesn't speak very clearly or say many words, but she sometimes starts humming or "singing" for no apparent reason :)
She frequently says that she wants to go potty (which sounds more like "pie"), but she is terrified of the toilet...and screams if you sit her on it. I have NO idea why.
She says Mowat!
(if you don't remember/know, it is pronounced "Moyt")
Grandma and Grandpa are "Ma-maw" and "Papa". My sister (Kara) is "Ra-Ra". I am "Mommy" and Stephen is "Daddy", and Titus is "Daddus" (but she RARELY will say it), Pheobe is "Bee Bee".
Other words: Diaper is "by-per", Milk is "Mo", "Peese" for please, "Tay-Tu" is thank-you (which is rarely prompted - she is so polite!), almost every color is "Geen", all the letters are either "B" or "D", if she wants to eat something you have she says "bite", if she wants a drink she makes this strange noise where she doesn't open her mouth at all but sounds like she is gulping and saying "drink" at the same time. I will have to get a video because there is no way to really describe it...or even demonstrate it! :)
She puts an "ah" sound in front of a lot of her words, so it become "ah-mommy", "ah-bite", etc.
She refuses to even TRY to say her first name.
She LOVES shoes.
She wears 18 month pants and 24 month/2T shirts, and size 5 shoes.
She is definitely a Mommy's girl.

So cute!! I would definitely watch the hair twisting thing. Bekah did that when she was tired, had a paci, at bed time, etc, and she would wake up with big sections of hair pulled out or twisting into a knot that we ended up having to cut out. It took a lot of time for the patches of "nothing" to grow back. It was very discouraging sometimes when doing her hair. :) Once we got her to give up the paci, close to 3 years old at night, she stopped twisting.
The cake looks great!
I loved learning all that stuff about your little two year old :) Grace says "by-per" for diaper, too. And she really wants to start potty training; so I need to get on it. So far she has just passed gas on the potty- by, hey, that's a start.
Have a great week!
I love how you do her hair! I have never been that great at doing hair! The cake looks great and I am glad she had a good birthday! I plan on writing you back soon about camping! Just been so behind!
