Stephen and I cut these CARS pictures out and saved them - I thought for a year, but Stephen thought it had been two years. Either, way, we knew Titus would love them on his cake!! Plus it made it a LOT easier for me to decorate, because most of it was done already :)
Opening presents yesterday morning.
I really wanted to get him a bike, but Stephen just didn't think he was ready quite yet - he is very small, so I see his point. Instead we got him a couple games we thought he would like, track for his Thomas trains, and Salty (another Thomas train) who also came with cars to pull.
Blowing out his candle...
We had a couple friends over from church for his birthday...I would have liked to invite other friends over that were HIS age, but we didn't have any free evenings this week, and Wednesdays are always hectic with Stephen having to leave for church by 6.
The parsonage in Michigan has small rooms and slanted ceilings, so we knew there was no way Titus's bed would make the move. In order to make up for his loss (he loved this bed), we used the money we got from selling it and bought him a fun CARS bed set. The new bed is actually the full-size bed I used growing up, and was my Grandma Snyder's bed before she passed away. Switching beds had absolutely nothing to do with his birthday, but the people that bought it came on his birthday to take it, so that is when we made the switch. :)
I think he likes it :)
Here are some things about Titus:
He is a very picky eater...but LOVES peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I think he could eat them for every meal, and in fact, if I mention anything about dinner, he asks "are we having peanut butter & jelly?" and gets upset that we aren't...this happens probably 2/3 of the time :)
He doesn't really like cake...I thought it was a phase at Damaris's birthday, but it was confirmed yesterday...he just doesn't like it. I guess I will have to make something different for his birthday next year :) :)
He likes to sleep with one of his little cars.
He NEVER wets the bed. This was something I was worried about after we potty trained. Maybe because we waited longer????
Titus loves to play with trains. And watch Daddy play with his N scale train set. (But he liked trains WAY before Stephen started bringing out his sets)
He loves to draw or color...but mostly draw. And he is REALLY good at it.
He can write his own name.
He is very emotional and sensitive...so we are careful to talk to him about everything that is about to happen to try to prepare him and talk him through it.
He can now get his own car seat buckles fastened. (I can't WAIT until he can be in a booster...but we have over 10 pounds for him to gain first)
He is very good at talking...no slurs, stutters, or wrong pronunciation (well, he keeps wanting to say ba-skety instead of spaghetti :)). Overall, he is very clear and articulate.
He may be shy at first, but loves being around people.
Titus's favorite movie is his Thomas video called 'Mud, Glorious Mud".
He is definitely our persistent (read: stubborn :)) , independent one. We constantly are having "battle of the wills". I think the phrase he hears the most from us is "Listen and obey!" We say this a LOT.
He has a fantastic memory...which is sometimes good and bad :)
His two favorite friends are Zachary from our church who is 5.5 years old, and Andrew from his sitter's house who is maybe 7 years old.
His favorite two games on the Wii are Mario Cart and what he calls "Big Trucks", which is a monster truck game. He is actually very good at driving, too...he just doesn't understand the competition part yet :)
He loves it when you read him books.
He wears 3 T pants (almost always has to have a belt or adjustable pants), 3-4 T shirts, and size 8 shoes.
He is definitely a Daddy's boy.

Happy birthday titus, btw michelle, you must teach me how to potty train, i don't know where to begin since maddy is in child care already....
I loved reading all about Titus. He seems like such a great kid- and so smart! I really wanted to get David a bike this summer, but it is SO hot and my little guy gets so overheated. So maybe we'll wait until the fall. :)
Wow, 4 years - that's crazy! I think Thomas trains are the perfect toy for kids, I used to babysit a boy Titus' age who was obsessed with all things Thomas.
