Surprise Party

I can spot a surprise party a mile away...I am pretty observant, and all it takes is one tiny comment for me to get suspicious and guess what is going on. So for Stephen to pull off a surprise party for my birthday (I turned 30 on black Friday...fitting, I know), was amazing...hats off to my hubby :)

Last week a few of us girls at the church decided to get together to make candy and then split it out between our families. Little did I know that was all part of the plan... :)

So I pack up my peanut butter ball recipe and all the stuff to make it, made sure I had all the ingredients when we went shopping, and was on my way yesterday afternoon. We had fun making my recipe as well as chocolate covered pretzels, crackers dipped in andes mints, rock candy, etc. It took us three hours, but we had a lot of fun!

One of the girls couldn't make it because she was sick, so we were going to drop off a plate to her on our way home. Then one of the girls asked if we could stop by the church on the way and help her load up some stuff in her car. I didn't think anything about it because she just started working as the nursery/preschool coordinator so has been busy with that.

I walk in the church, into the fellowship hall, just following her in there, and I see people standing in the dark, and I am thinking, what in the world are people doing in the dark?!? And then everyone yells "surprise" and I STILL DON'T GET IT. As I look around the room and see my parents and one of my friends (and her family) from high school, it dawned on me that the surprise was for ME. :) :) I guess that goes to show how good of a surprise Stephen pulled off. I HAD NO IDEA :)
