Last Friday our women's group at the church sponsored a Soup Dinner and Silent Auction to raise funds for a team from our church that is going to Guatemala this spring to help Open Door Ministries Orphanage. It costs $1,000 per house while they are working there, and so our goal was to raise enough money to pay for 3 houses. We knew this was a huge goal for our small church, but God is good and through the Silent Auction and through others who donated afterwards, we raised $3,000!!!!

We had over 100 items donated!!! Several people went around to businesses in our communities and people in our church also donated. We had a huge variety which was nice!
Some of the kitchen crew! We actually went through the process of getting our kitchen licensed with the health department for this event...that way we could advertise in the community, hoping to get a larger crowd. The food was amazing!!
It was a LOT of work, but it was a lot of fun, and I am so glad we met our goal!!
