Vacation Part 1...The Drive

Last week was spent in the Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia.  We left after the Lugnuts game in Lansing that I had for work, and drove until we got tired, pulled off in a Meijer parking lot, and got up again at 5:30 am to keep going.  Well, just north of Columbus, OH we got a strange message on Stephen's truck and it completely lost all power.

We spent 5 hours messing around with it trying to get the computer to reset (we knew nothing was really wrong because there was no check engine light) and finally gave up.  We knew we had to make a decision - go home since we knew there would be no way to get through the mountains with no power, or find another vehicle so we could keep going.  We decided to keep going.  Thankfully since we were in Columbus near the international airport, we could get a really good deal on a large vehicle to haul us and all our stuff.

Not the way we planned to start our vacation, but we decided to just enjoy our days away and worry about it when we got back.

Here are some pictures of our drive:

Just a cool bridge in Ohio.  It is really big...look at the semi about to go under it!

Last state before we are there :)

Traveling wears you right out!

I thought this was such a cool mountain.  It is part of the Shenandoah National Park area.

Mountains everywhere!

More pictures to come soon!!
