Texas

Last week I flew to Texas for my niece's graduation.  My parents went with me, and even though we had several delays getting to and from Texas, we still had a great time!

Five area schools combined for the graduation, and even though it was still small (around 50 graduates), it was so cool that they had a mid-year graduation for those that had completed their requirements!

Unfortunately, my good camera needs to go in for repair, so I had my old one, which is on its last leg, and takes horrible pictures :(  But it was better than nothing!

They even had a choir and band!

The speaker did a great job

We flew in late on Wednesday night (our plane was delayed two hours while we waited for pilots), then spent all day Thursday and Friday hanging out at their house, playing a tons of cards, and just visiting.  And of course enjoying the BEAUTIFUL warm weather!

On Friday night we took Mykel out for her birthday and then on our way back to our hotel that night, I got a call that our flight the next morning was cancelled, and was rescheduled for later that afternoon.  The benefit was that we were able to spend an extra day with family, and Saturday was Mykel's actual birthday!  Even that flight was delayed, but I had a first - a female pilot and a male flight attendant...all on the same flight!  We ended up not getting into Grand Rapids until 10, and then by the time we took my parents home and then drove to our house it was after midnight.

What an amazing trip, and I am SO thankful that several of my family members were willing to put my Christmas money toward a ticket...it meant the world to me!!!!!!!

I love flying!

So beautiful!!

Beautiful day, and a beautiful sunset!

I wish the pictures would have turned out...it was a super clear night, so it was beautiful to see all the lights!
