Cow

Our cow, Rufford, died this week.  We have no idea what happened - it wasn't cold out, and we had way colder weather earlier this winter.  He wasn't acting sick at all, and our friend's cow is still fine and not acting sick.  It was disappointing, but we knew going into it that raising cattle was not a guarantee.  The kids are sad, too - even though they knew that the cows were going to be raised to eat, this was very sudden and we never saw it coming.  Maybe we will try again another year...
