Damaris

Last Saturday Damaris learned how to ride a bike!  It took HOURS, but she mostly has it down.  She sometimes can start on her own, other times she struggles.  She still has to have the peddles "just right" to even try.  She has a hard time steering, and panics - which means moving the handle bars all over the place, which means falling - but she has gotten REALLY good at jumping off her bike and not getting hurt ;)

She worked so hard at it, though!  She didn't want to give up, but was in tears and was very frustrated, so I convinced her to take several breaks to calm down, and she did much better after the breaks, gaining a little more confidence each time.  She still has a long way to go, but I am proud of how hard she worked at it!  We got her a new bike just like we promised if she learned, but we suggested she ride the smaller one until she feels more comfortable. :)
