Bread

I made my very first homemade bread ever...and it was SOOOO good. It was actually my first time buying wheat flour and using it as well. I liked this bread because it uses honey as a sweetener instead of sugar. The only sugar was a tiny bit to get the yeast going. I want to keep using this recipe to make hot dog and hamburg buns too (it makes 3 loves and I only have two pans, so it is easy to adjust the portions). I hope to make it at least once a week so that I don't have to buy bread - it is so expensive and doesn't taste nearly as good.

I have always wanted to make homemade bread, but it takes 5-6 hours start to finish, and I just never really had (took) time for that.

One more thing to be thankful for as I stay at home this season of my life...focusing on the positives help a lot.

hey thanks for your comment on my blog. I think I'm going to start a study and maybe write a mini-series on the cross and what it means to take up our cross...but also delve into Jesus' crucifixion. I appreciate your comments on my blog always! Also- I read your blog on frustrations with staying home and I want you to know I am praying for you and I love you and your family! That bread looks yummy!

I love making homemade bread! I have a bread machine that I dump my ingredients in and after the initial mix, I don't have to do anything until it finishes mixing and rising the bread (dough setting) then I make my loaves or pizza crust or cinnamon rolls or whatever I'm working on. It's so much fun for good stuff! Right now I've been too tired to pull it out, but I'm hoping that will change soon. :)

If you want ideas for more breads to make I can send you my pizza/cinnamon roll recipe or some of my others as well.

Enjoy baking and having the time to do it!

That looks great! I don't typically make bread for our family, but I would love to get into the habit. I recently found some really easy recipes in a magazine taht I want to try.

Yum! I've made plenty of rolls, but bread is definitely on my 'learn to make well' list. If I can't find a good recipe, I may be asking :) Enjoy!
