Many of you know that Stephen sometimes has really bad nightmares, and it didn't take long after we were married to figure out that he gets them 99% of the time when he is lacking sleep.
Now I am wondering if he has rubbed off on Damaris...because while I was gone last week and again last night, she was screaming in absolute terror. Screaming that she saw things on the
ceiling, in her bed, in the covers, and even on her own clothes and mine. And it was VERY real to her. Calming her down, going back to my room, and a few minutes later her screaming in complete fear again only lasted so long. I normally don't let the kids sleep with us, but I didn't know how to calm her down. Even that didn't help too much, though. We had to turn the light on, and every time we moved or touched her or did anything she would scream in panic again.
I felt so sorry for her. I mean, she was so scared and there really was nothing I could do. Titus has had a few bad dreams, but nothing like this.
Hopefully this is just a phase...and if it does have to do with her not getting enough sleep, I will just have to be more intentional about getting her to bed on time!
Anyone else have problems like this?

wow sounds like my childhood! Maybe she needs a nightlight. I used to have nightmares all the time growing up. It lasted a long time, but they did eventually go away. Funny when I quit having them Stephen started.
My kids both have nightmares, but nothing as bad as that. We have given them both night lights and there are many nights where we will pray with them at night and tell them that Jesus will protect them while they sleep. That seems to help their fears at that point. But I haven't encountered nightmares as bad as that. I hope it doesn't continue.
