Hard to believe Titus is 5 already...I am not sure where the time went, and can't believe how much has changed. Here are pictures as we celebrated his birthday on the 17th!
Damaris waiting to give him his presents...in an outfit she put on herself :)
He liked Damaris's present...a car.
And ours WILL be a good present...and sandbox. But we should know in a day or two for sure whether or not we are getting this house or not (we should have closed a month ago, but that is another long story) and we didn't want to put sand in it now if in a couple weeks/months we would have to shovel it all back out and then in again. He is still excited and likes playing in it - not sure how long we are going to keep in in our office, though - it takes up a lot of space!
Stephen made the cake this year...normally I do, but I am only brave enough to try regular, flat birthday cakes - Stephen is the creative one. So when Titus said he wanted a monster truck, Stephen right away said he wanted to do it. For his first cake ever, I thought Stephen did an amazing job!!!
He even had it driving over a crushed car!
His birthday was Thursday, but we decided kind of last minute to throw him a birthday party. I found these cute little monster trucks and colored bags and filled them with candy too. I spent a long time painting names on the bags with puff paint only to realize that it wasn't paint but glue, so it all soaked into the bags and looked terrible. So when the kids' dentist appointments got canceled on Friday, I was THRILLED and quick ran and got more bags and REAL paint this time, and started over. My mom and I were using a hair dryer for almost an hour between the two of us, but we made it. I was VERY glad I was able to redo them.
Titus picked out the meal - hot dogs, Doritos, and whale crackers. I added my sister's homemade, chunky, fresh salsa and got tortilla chips. It turned out really good, considering it was my first time making it!
Here are some pictures of our evening...

When Titus opened his presents almost all the kids had to be right there. It was so cute!
It was hard for him to wait while we read cards :)

Singing happy birthday and ready to dive in!
Yep, everyone enjoyed the cake :) :)
And I think Titus enjoyed his birthday - which was fun for us.

Wow, cool cake. I am not sure if we can do that but we may need to try in the future if Griffin makes a specific request.
Love the pictures! I am impressed with both Stephen's cake making skills and your dad's toy making skills!! I still remember going to visit you guys in the hospital when he was born. Time flies by...
Happy Birthday, Titus! If your boy is five, that means mine will be in a few months. That is just crazy!
Stephen did such a great job with the cake- I'm impressed. I also love the wooden toys. My dad makes toys like that with the kids all the time. I wish all of their toys were wooden.
Happy Birthday Titus!! Very cool cake!! Wow, the wooden toys are amazing! What a cool gift!!
You guys always inspire me. I love all the handmade things for Titus. The cake, the wooden toy, (is the sandbox handmade too?).
I think this is just great!
Happy birthday Titus!
