When I started driving to Mt Pleasant for work every day back in April, I began to keep a record of all the animals I would see on my way to and from work. When we lived in Crystal, I was on the road almost an hour and a half a day, mostly rural/country roads, and I saw lots of animals. Some have been alive, some dead...others are common animals, some are uncommon. All are animals that were NOT in a fence - meaning I could have hit them (and some I have). That is important to keep in mind.
Common:
cat
dog
squirrel
chipmunk
geese
deer (almost every day)
horses (seriously - they got loose)
robin (this is one I hit - went right for my car)
chickens
crows
blackbirds (I hit one of these, too)
bunny
raccoon
opossum
skunk
ducks
And MANY other birds that I don't know the names of...
Uncommon:
mice (impressive that I actually SAW this, right?)
white duck (is this a goose?)
doe with FOUR babies
hawk
wild turkey (almost hit the car in front of me)
owl
turtle
fox
Now that it is dark outside when I go to work, I don't see many animals, other than deer...so it will be interesting what else I might see this spring when it starts getting light out again!

One thing that I missed about being in USA (both Michigan and Arkansas) are these animals that we randomly see on the road. Something that I wish my kids will get to see without having to go to the zoo.
