We're weird - but you may have already known that...

We've been “tagged” by Josh and Jamie to list 6 weird things about us… Stephen had to really think to come up with his 6, and I could have easily listed more than 6 for me…am I really that strange??? You don’t have to answer that :)

My list…
1. I took this one from Jamie’s list – because it made me laugh since it is so true for me as well, and I was just too embarrassed to admit it to anyone before: I hide from people I see in a store if I am not good friends with them or if I don’t see them on a regular basis. I am very shy and am not really a people-person – I am getting better at this, but if I haven't seen you in a while, or I don’t really know you that well...probably going to hide :)

2. I hate talking on the phone...and I am not sure "hate" is a strong enough word...because I hate it so much that I even dread the phone RINGING!! This is all kind of funny because I was a RECEPTIONIST for a couple years, and now working for Dr. Bence I am still am on the phone a lot. I guess the difference is that I have a purpose - a quick, to the point purpose. No awkward silence or weird wondering of how to get off the phone. Not that I don’t like to catch up with people…but after about 5 minutes I start panicking. It’s kind of a family joke because I never call…and my siblings joke about the awkwardness when they do call me.

3. Puppies make me sin…which is why I told Stephen I will never have a puppy again. They just make me very, very angry. I told Stephen that God had to make them cute so people would take them home – but then you are stuck…something about peeing on the floor, jumping on people, and not listening to anything you are trying to teach them just makes me so angry I could cuss…

4. I love tiny babies, but I don’t like kids. I can handle my own, but you will never see me volunteer for any type of Sunday School or other “kid-event” if there are kids over 6 months or younger than JH/HS. I can say hi and – if they are old enough – carry on a short conversation, but don’t leave me alone with them or put me in charge of them for more than 2 minutes or I panic!

5. I don’t like shopping, chocolate, or backrubs – the three things most females can’t live without.

6. I am VERY picky about Stephen being clean shaven…to the point that I won’t even kiss him (or kiss him very carefully) if he hasn’t shaved in over 24 hours. I must have a very sensitive face, because it really hurts to kiss him if he hasn’t shaved…

Stephen’s list…
1. Stephen has vivid nightmares if he does not get enough sleep. Normally they are about snakes or drowning – his two biggest fears. They are so vivid that one time I had to pull him down from almost hitting our ceiling fan because he was standing on our bed screaming that there were snakes. One time he stayed up super late for like 3 days in a row, and the nightmares got so bad (4 or 5 in one night and I was very tired and sick from being pregnant) that I have banned him from sleeping with me if he stays up past 11…thankfully we have a spare bed so he doesn’t have to sleep on the couch :)

2. He is hydrophobic. This wouldn’t necessarily be strange, other than the fact that we are both from Michigan – and you can hardly go 15 miles without finding a lake…so everyone pretty much grows up in water.

3. Stephen LOVES shopping, chocolate, and backrubs...oh, and did I mention that he loves shopping and chocolate? :)

4. He hates any type of potato – that has to be un-American! (I must say he is getting better…he will sometimes eat French fries, the baked chips that taste like raw potatoes, and normally takes seconds of my yummy cheesy potatoes)

5. He is a big baby when it comes to needles or pain…he couldn’t even get his cavities filled without taking these pills from the dentist that basically knock you unconscious. Even those didn’t work when he had to get his wisdom teeth out…the doctor couldn’t even do the procedure because Stephen was screaming and panicking. I had to beg the doctor to try again…and so the next time he prescribed Valium for Stephen to take the night before to relax him. It apparently worked, because he doesn’t have his wisdom teeth any more.

6. Stephen takes 10 MINUTES in the shower…especially in the winter. I like to stand there and enjoy the warmth and wake up, but WOW that’s a long time when all he has to do is wash his body and his hair. I don’t take that long when I have to shave!!!

OK, now it’s your turn Gene and Annie! Of course, if any of the rest of you reading want to do it, I think it would be fun – I just randomly picked.
