Random Update

We have had revival services at our church all week - and I actually was able to attend because a lady volunteered all week in the nursery!! Services were really good - I could take a whole post to talk about what Dr. David Smith (chair of the Religion dept at IWU) talked about. I think it was really hard on the kids, though, because they got a lot less sleep than normal - especially Titus. He asked to go to bed last night at 6 PM...which of course wasn't an option with services.

I felt bad for the nursery, too, because Damaris is beginning to become seriously afraid of people she doesn't see almost every day - and it is getting worse. She even cries for my sister who she sees at least weekly!! She even has a different cry when she gets afraid like she has been...it is so sad, it just breaks my heart :( I first noticed it a couple weeks ago when a lot of the Mowats came in for the weekend - and I even mentioned it to at least one of Stephen's cousins, because I wondered if she was crying just because there were so many people around that she didn't know...because normally she doesn't really cry much. I am more convinced now that my suspicions were correct.

Anyway, last night was the last service, and today is Stephen's day off, so the kids got to sleep in (other than I had to wake up Damaris for a little bit to eat before I left for work)...Titus didn't wake up until the phone rang at 11 AM, and Stephen was going to wake up Damaris to feed her shortly after that. CRAZY!! Hopefully Titus' attitude improves now that he is more rested...he has been a BEAR at home. :( But then I have no grounds to complain...I get super grumpy when I haven't had a lot of sleep either. :)

Two of our friends who are pregnant just found out in the last week that they are going to be having girls. It will be Will and Jackie's first and Nate and Erin's third (they currently have two boys). Plus we have friends who just had twin girls on Friday (congrats Rick and Lauren!!). We have been surrounded by boys for so long, that this is quite the change!! I guess it works out well for Titus and Damaris! They both will have friends close to their own age :)

Tomorrow I leave for a Women's Retreat with some ladies from our church, which should be a lot of fun. I hope to take lots of pictures so I will post them when I get back :) Stephen is having a "guys night" at our house and hanging out with Titus on Saturday. It should be fun...but I think I will be ready to crash on Sunday - it has been a busy week!!

I can always rely on you for good advice. Thanks! Getting David to nap in his bed is getting to be really hard- especially with a newborn! He is sleeping in it great at night, though. I guess it just takes time.

I hope you have a good weekend at your retreat.
