Warning: Superficial

I just have to vent a little, and is REALLY petty and dumb...probably because I feel like I don't need one more frustration in the midst of everything else...are you ready? I warned you...superficial, remember?

I have tried twice now to get my hair trimmed to keep up the style I had cut back in March that I LOVED...and both times have just left me for months with frustrating hair. This last time I brought in pictures to try to help. It is not that I don't like the lady...I just can't figure out how to tell her how to cut my hair. I just know that I get home and it is not the way it was when I first got it cut. One frustration that I addressed was her layering my hair on the sides...which after blow-drying ends up in this nasty, feathery look instead of curling under - YUCK! It just doesn't lay right no matter what I do. Here is a picture to prove it...

When I showed her the pictures of how it was cut the first time, she saw what I meant and said she would keep it longer on the sides - but the damage was done from the time before. But it still doesn't look right - so it is more than just the sides. There are other things that I know I don't like, but I have no idea how to tell her what I want...I just know what I DON'T want!! I am going in one final time to this lady, and then I am either letting my sister, Kara try to cut it even though she is not a beautician, or I will just have to try a new style. I don't feel like bouncing from person to person, and plus I am cheap and getting my hair cut all the time is expensive. I just know I can't take it this way anymore!!

Katina, I need you to come back down here!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :)

May I talk about a sister superficial hair issue? Ok, thanks. I hate it when people see me the day I get my hair cut because it was styled by a professional. Listen, people, it will never look that way again! I hate it when their expectations are raised. :( Good luck with getting the RIGHT cut, and not a nearly right one.

Try a straightener/flat iron. I bought one and use in every-once-in-a-while to get that more professional look that the hair stylist was able to get. :)

Can you find a different person to cut your hair? Or have her see it when the person who did it first cuts it again?

I know what you mean; that kind of thing drives me crazy! Guess I'm superficial too.
