Stephen parents had asked about having the kids stay with them for a few days this summer. One of the times that worked out was this past weekend. We realized that we had nothing going on, so last minute we decided to book a hotel and take a mini-vacation!! (And we got a GREAT deal on a hotel, which helped!)
We got up there Thursday night right at sunset, and it was beautiful!
The mackinaw bridge is so cool!
Friday started out rainy and dreary, but it soon cleared up and it was BEAUTIFUL

This is a real person...and it was fun seeing people's reactions when they realized he was not a statue :) It was pretty cool, and it was crazy how still he could stand there!!!
This is a HUGE house right on the lake in Mackinaw City. It is beautiful with all those windows!
Here is another view from the beach. Can you imagine living here, or this just being your vacation house???? Crazy!
And of course there were seagulls. This one was very close!

We zoomed in to Mackinac Island (still pronounced "Mackinaw") and could see the Grand Hotel
And we could even see Fort Mackinac!
We were going to stay down at the bridge for the sunset, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky, so we realized there wouldn't be much of one, so we just went back to the room to hang out, play games, and watch TV.
