I had last Friday off from work since the 4th fell on Saturday, so it was very nice to have a long weekend! We slept in and then talked over breakfast about our options for the day and 3 out of 4 of us wanted to visit family that was camping.
We didn't get back from running errands until 3:30, but we headed back out by 4 to the same place where my family goes camping Memorial Weekend. We got there, ate with my cousin and her family and my sister Kara and her husband Dan...and I didn't want to leave :) Stephen talked me into staying since he was the one that really needed to be at the 4th of July parade for the church and at church on Sunday. So I went back home, packed up, and came back just in time for some fireworks that they had purchased. Here are a couple pictures...they were very good for just fireworks you could buy on your own!
The next day we just hung around and played games and read books and relaxed. The weather was SO nice!
Titus and Abby are just two weeks apart. They were pretending to be sleeping :)
Titus took this one...I thought it was pretty cool :)
Titus took this one, too...Joshua hiding in the hammock
After dinner we packed into two vehicles and went for Ice Cream in Baldwin and then headed to Big Star Lake for fireworks. We got there early, so there was time to play and hang out.

Joshua, Pete, Beth, Hannah, and Abby
Damaris, me, and Titus
Before the fireworks started, people were setting off their own fireworks
This one and the picture above were right in front of us on the beach
We had a good view of the actual lake fireworks - but they were far enough away it wasn't very loud. They were pretty good, and it is always pretty over water!
This is one of my favorites!
More pictures by Titus...is it just me, or does he look SO OLD in this picture????? Yikes!
Of course he had to do a crazy picture :)
I have no idea how Abby saw it, but she spotted this teeny tiny mouse running in the grass. I think it could have sat on a quarter. It really was very cute! Titus loved it of course, and he had to take a picture :) It actually stayed around for a long time, and even fell asleep in the grass by Pete and Beth's trailer.
We all had a great weekend - I am so glad I decided to be spontaneous and camp!!
