Stephen found an amazing deal on a Massey 101 Junior - a tractor for those of you that are "city" like me and had no idea what that was before I met Stephen :) Anyway, as I have mentioned before, he is currently restoring a 101 Senior that is his dad's. So it is kind of like a set. Anyway, he was super excited about this "steal of a deal" - only the tractor was in Indianapolis, IN. After our stay at The Shack (last post), Stephen really wanted to go get it that day and just get back late that night. Well, the guy didn't call us until middle of the afternoon, so it was 3 pm by the time we got on the road - which meant 1-2 am back home at the earliest.
Well, to make a long story short, on our way home, Stephen's flat bed trailer broke down just north of Fort Wayne and we ended up having to leave the tractor and trailer behind and we didn't get home until almost 5 am and then we had to be up before 7 am to get to church for Praise Team practice at 8 am. Not fun!
Then we had to go back down to Indiana the next day after church to go back and get it. Thankfully Stephen's parents kept the kids another night (they had them from us going to The Shack) and another guy from the church went with us to help Stephen rig up the middle axle (it had completely snapped, which makes absolutely no sense if you know anything about trailers, but that is another story) so we could drive home.
Anyway, here are a few trips from our "quick trip" which ended up being a LONG 36 hours...
We took Eva with us on Saturday - she LOVES to ride. Even though she had the whole back seat to herself, she still had to be by us :) :)
Finally stretching out a little bit... :)
Here is on Sunday - fixing the axle. I just thought it was funny to see two sets of legs sticking out of the trailer :)
Almost done!
(you can see Stephen's tractor that we paid practically nothing for, and the whole missing middle axle)
